Latest Teeth Whitening Solutions

The most important factor to look for in a teeth whitening regimen is to find one that provides quick and powerful results without causing any long-term safety risks. A lot of the latest tooth whitening solutions use harmful chemicals that can erode tooth enamel and possibly lead to poor dental health in the long run. On top of that, these chemicals can be dangerous to swallow and swallowing some is almost inevitable during these treatments. So what are the most recent and the best teeth whitening methods that are also the safest?

Teeth bleaching is one common technique used for teeth whitening. This method is relatively safe because the dental professionals can create a tray that is built to fit each person's mouth. The advantage of this is that any extra liquid used in the bleaching won't end up going down the patient's throat. In addition, the trays are designed to sit in the patient's mouth safely for a long time, which means that less harsh chemicals can be used (since they have more time to work).
Teeth bleaching in this way is a lot more effective than most home-use products that use similar chemicals. For example, teeth whitening strips or toothpaste are much lower in concentration and are only used for short periods of time, so they can't provide the same levels of cleaning at all. A good teeth bleaching treatment will last for a full 30 minutes, which helps to ensure a thorough cleaning.

One similar alternative to teeth bleaching is a relatively new treatment referred to as laser teeth whitening. In this procedure, the patient's lips and gums are fully covered so none of the cleaning agent can get in their mouth. Then, a special gel solution is applied to the teeth. When combined with the special type of light, the combination results in drastically whiter teeth. While these treatment are sometimes called 'laser treatments,' there are no actual lasers used -just a special light. A few applications of the gel are applied and left to sit for a while, for a total treatment time of 45 minutes to an hour. The end result is long-lasting white teeth that are on average 8 shades lighter.

There are also some high tech teeth whitening solutions that are designed for home use. However, many of these treatments still require a visit to the dentist, who will prep you for the treatment and provide a molded tray that fits your teeth. Once it's been prepared, you're given a special kit that you can use at home. The instructions are easy to follow, and while the results may not be as effective as a dentist-performed whitening, they are usually better than other home-use methods.

For those who are afraid of taking a trip to visit the dentist, unfortunately there are no truly effective methods that you can use at home. If you want to get exceptionally whiter teeth, then you should call your dentist's office and see if they offer one of these advanced procedures.

This treatment claims to transform your smile by whitening your teeth up to 8 shades. It gives you instant results. The process is performed in the presence of a dentist. Why Teeth Turn Yellow

In recent years cosmetic teeth whitening has become THE number one patient requested cosmetic procedure, and, according to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry ® (AACD) consumer demand has increased by over 300% since 1996! A beautiful bright smile can instill confidence and is often associated with health and beauty, which is why we have seen such a huge increase in the demand for cosmetic teeth whitening. As such, many people ask how to whiten their teeth but few ask why their teeth turn yellow.

Teeth can turn yellow for several reasons: smoking, drinking dark colored beverages, antibiotics (tetracycline for example), aging, and genetics as well. All of these factors can very well contribute the dulling of your smile and the yellowing of your teeth, but how?

Cigarettes: small molecules from cigarette smoke attach themselves to the enamel of smokers' teeth while the smoke is being inhaled. These molecules accumulate over time and leave an unsightly yellow color on the teeth of smokers. These staining molecules are very difficult to remove and are the cause of the yellow stains on the teeth of smokers'.

Dark colored beverages: dark colored beverages yellow teeth in essentially the same manner as cigarettes. However, many dark colored beverages that we consume daily are slightly acidic and can aide the teeth yellowing process. The acid slowly breaks down portions of the tooth's enamel and over time, colored molecules attach themselves to the teeth. Also, the dentin is exposed through the lightly thinned enamel. Dentin is yellow in color and contributes to teeth yellowing as well.

Anitbiotics: antibiotics such as tetracycline taken during childhood while teeth were developing can contribute to the discoloration or slight greying of teeth as well. This is especially difficult to remove since the discoloration takes place within the teeth themselves. This is not impossible to treat but requires more attention and perhaps more sessions to remove.

Genetics: genetics play a significant role in the color of your teeth. Your genetics help determine the thickness of your enamel on your teeth and how the react to their environment (i.e. your mouth and what you put in it). Enamel is naturally white and the thicker it is, the whiter your teeth can appear.

Aging: The enamel on our teeth naturally thins as we age. Again, thin enamel lets the yellow color of the dentin underneath come through, making your teeth appear yellow. This, however, should not deter you from attempting achieve the best (whitest) results you can with your smile.

Rather, you can take hold and control the color of your smile by controlling what you eat and drink, and abstain form habits that will discolor your teeth. Cosmetic teeth whiting is very effective and you can achieve fantastic results in as little as 20-40 minutes, but it is up to you to maintain that new white smile. After you have whitened your teeth, you should eat healthy foods such as strawberries, cucumbers, and apples. These foods increase saliva which helps kill staining bacteria, and as a bonus, the fiber in these foods also cleans your teeth.

Whitening Teeth at Home - It Should Have Been Easier

Home-based teeth whitening kits are great inventions which allow us to whiten teeth at home with much less cost than those in-office whitening sessions. However, wearing teeth whitening trays and strips in the mouth for half an hour could be boring and agonizing. With teeth whitening trays in your mouth, you are not supposed to speak or move. Similarly, teeth whitening strips can easily slide off and are not good to clean the area between teeth.

The most uncomfortable thing that I hate about wearing either teeth whitening trays or strips is the saliva. It also causes the teeth strips to slide off. This could even put our home teeth whitening efforts to naught. Can things be easier? We need something that we do not have to wear for so long a time. It would be ideal if we are not required to wear any teeth whitening trays or strips at all. I want something that I can just apply and forget.

We need something that is simple to use. Aside from other frustrating aspects, measuring the volume which the trays need to be filled with alone could put me into fatigue. Putting them on is another thing I would rather stay clear of. Of course, it should be effective. I should generate professional results expected within a matter of days.

It just sounds impossible, does not it? But technology is intended to make our life easier. And the answer to the above question has become affirmative, thanks to the efforts made by the dental experts and organizations. Now we can enjoy the process of whitening teeth at home with the prevalence of the latest technological development.
