Cold Laser Teeth Whitening, is it For You?

Stacking up on one's look includes perfecting that smile - spotless white teeth - achievable in within an hour only with the cold laser teeth whiteners technology.

The Basics

Everybody can have whiter teeth with the laser method except pregnant and nursing moms. Young people below 16 years of age should NOT get a teeth whitening treatment. A recent study concludes that shorter contact time with teeth whiteners bleach is safer for children but pupal damage can occur if done incorrectly.

People with persistent mouth infections have to be evaluated before any teeth whiteners procedure. If you have no serious gum and teeth problems, you can have a cold laser application for teeth whitening any time.

You are looking at $600 per tooth for a cold laser teeth whitening session, which can run into the thousands of dollars if the stains are stubborn and numerous. But the expense is worth the convenience and the treatment last two years. Frequent touch ups can be done for smokers and coffee drinkers.

Safety Issues
Unless you are allergic to hydrogen peroxide and its derivatives, be wary of teeth bleaching gels. But on the positive side, cosmetic teeth whitening is safe. The gels used in junction with the cold lasers do not damage teeth structure; these simply lighten and brighten the teeth.
The one hour procedure does not hurt because the technology using cold laser teeth whitening uses low laser intensity. It also reduces inflammation or pain that may occur after the treatment. But generally only a small percentage of patients experience pain or sensitivity to the bleaching gel used. It is recommended that hot and cold food should be avoided for 24 hours after the treatment. Dentists may give a fluoride treatment following the teeth whitening treatment to reduce sensitivity.

Advantages Over Home Teeth Whitening Treatment

The time element separates teeth bleaching treatment from the laser method. It takes you three to eight months before results can be seen. You have to do the routine daily. In laser teeth whitening, the job is done by a professional and does not require frequent follow-up at the dentist's office.

Before the procedure the dentist will prepare a shade chart and show you how your teeth will look when whitened. A digital photograph is taken your teeth so it can be compared to the possible white color your teeth can achieve. This early you can have an idea of the appearance of your whitened teeth sans stains and you know you are getting value for your money.

The process is also highly effective; whatever the origin of the deep stains on your teeth laser teeth whitening can lighten it; it becomes invisible you wouldn't believe that years of smoking and coffee drinking that have stained your teeth can be eliminated in an hour. This is due to the stronger bleaching gels used.

If you fit the bill, not pregnant or nursing, over 16 years old, have healthy gums and teeth, and raring for a big bright smile, get a teeth makeover. It's worth your money and one hour of your time.
