There are two basic options for you when you are considering whitening your teeth. The first is a visit to the dentist. No, this visit doesn't include any scary utensils or pain. It's actually a fairly easy procedure that can be performed in under an hour. The only downside, other than waiting in line for an appointment, is the cost. Each session will run you hundreds of dollars.
Keep in mind that when you're whitening, it's not a permanent process and eventually you'll need to do some maintenance sessions. This is why it's usually more cost-effective to go with an at-home teeth-whitening kit. These kits are just as successful at whitening your teeth and when it comes time for sprucing them up, it's as simple as keeping an extra kit or two around your bathroom.

After you've whitened your teeth pick up a whitening toothpaste and an oral rinse. These two items will help keep staining to a minimum, and make your smile last longer. It's also a good idea to ease up on the dark colored drinks: coffee, teas, red wines, dark sodas and juices, etc. These drinks will stain your white smile quickly and negate all your hard work. Make your first impressions the best ones: whiten your teeth.
